Finding that Local Hot Spot . Is it Genuine or Fake .
We all enjoy authenticity , traditional and the real qualities to island living and the island lifestyle . Searching for that spot that hasn't been manicured and still holds its originality whether it be a restaurant or a gift shop . Due to the real world and the changes that most island cultures endure it is only through market pressure that the authenticity can be lost and can become more rare as days go by with modern developments taking over .
Dependant on what you looking for the locals are always a good place to start . They know all the ins and outs and they are usually more than happy to share it all with you and even give you the best directions . Better than google maps thats for sure when not all shortcuts and roads have been placed in the maps app . The Locals are the real kings and queens of knowledge despite what the internet may say . Easy to approach and always appreciative of the openness for discussion of unique adventure on their islands .
Local Flavour is not always an aspect the traveller is looking for but thats like most things . There is just something about the 'feels' you get when you interact with the locals and communicate with them regarding your queries for this strange spiky green fruit or the island delicacy .
For us we believe in the Local Flavour and supporting the people of the land . Fresh Fish straight from the fishermen , Local Fruit and Veg Markets , to the small sometimes hard to spot rum shacks . Its all supporting the economy but directly through the real workers and the genuine people of the island .
